    Have the serial number of the Becker MAP PILOT on hand if possible. You can find the serial number of the back of the device under the bar code.

Map update
  1. Why do I need to buy a new map update? An up-to-date map guides you with the most accurate and efficient routing to help you save time. The road network is constantly changing, but having a fresh map ensures you have the wealth of information you need to find your destination with ease. This includes new and updated road networks, new build up areas and thousands of Points of Interest - from petrol stations to airports and from restaurants to hotels. With a new map you can be comfortable knowing that you have the latest information available for your Navigation System, providing you with a better travel experience whether on business or leisure. Top of page 
  2. How can I purchase a new map product for my Becker MAP PILOT navigation system? Connect your Becker MAP PILOT to your computer, and start the Becker Content Manager. You may access the corresponding product overview via the Shop navigation item. Add the desired product to your cart, continue shopping or go to checkout.

  3. How often are new map updates or map products released? You will be provided with one map updates per year for your Becker MAP PILOT. Top of page 
  4. The supplied map data doesn’t contain a street that I know exists. What can I do? Providers of map material do their best always to keep map material updated; however, there are often changes in the road network. Provide your feedback about roads, which you travelled, at http://mapcreator.here.com/mapcreator/. Please note that registration is required for using the site. Top of page

Installing and using Becker Content Manager for the Becker MAP PILOT on your PC
  1. What is the Becker Content Manager? The Becker Content Manager is a free computer software tool with which allows you to manage the contents of your Becker MAP PILOT, create backups and load map data as well as software updates on to your device. Top of page 
  2. What are the system requirements for Becker Content Manager?

    All Becker MAP PLIOT device types Microsoft Vista, Win7/8/8.1/10 or

    For Becker MAP PILOT type M054, M075, M076, M083, M084, M085, M092 and M097 with Firmware R24 or higher
    Apple OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or newer.

    For Becker MAP PILOT type 9077, M013, M041, M045, M046, M050 and M051
    Apple OSX 10.7 (Lion) up to OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).

  3. Becker Content Manager did not install automatically. What should I do?

    Automatic installation is disabled on some computers. In this case, download the latest version of Becker Content Manager for Windows or Mac. Then start the installation manually.

    For Becker MAP PILOT type M054, M075, M076, M083, M084, M085, M092 and M097 with Firmware R24 or higher
    Apple OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or newer.

    For Becker MAP PILOT type 9077, M013, M041, M045, M046, M050 and M051
    Apple OSX 10.7 (Lion) up to OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).

    You can download the Becker Content Manager Windows installer and the complete User Guide from the Downloads page for free here.

  5. How can I obtain the latest version of the Becker Content Manager?

    Once a new version of Becker Content Manager is available, the program will automatically instruct you to update your current version. If you would rather not work with this automated feature, you can choose to install the newest Windows Becker Content Manager from the site "Download" and download the installation program accompanying the latest version of Becker Content Manager.

  7. I don’t know how to connect my device with my computer, I have no cables or other methods of connection? The relevant cables are included in the box of the navigation system. Use the mini USB cable to connect the Becker MAP PILOT to the computer as detailed in the user guide. Top of page 
Order and Exchange
  1. How secure are my payment details? For security, credit card details once entered are not stored.  Access to your personal details is limited to ensure privacy (see footer). Top of page 
  2. Cannot connect to the Becker MAP PILOT online shop? In order to use these functions you must log in using the correct password. Please check the e-mail address and corresponding password in Becker Content Manager and in the Becker MAP PILOT online shop. (The online shop and Becker Content Manager passwords must be identical). Top of page 
  3. What do I do if I’ve forgotten my password? If you have forgotten your password, click on "LOGIN" in the main navigation followed by "Forgot password".  An e-mail containing your password will then be sent to the registered e-mail address. Top of page 
  4. How do I change my password on the website? To change your password, select "LOGIN" in the main navigation. Enter your e-mail address and password. Confirm your input with "log in". "My data" is now displayed at the top right below the cart. After clicking on "My data" you can change your password in the form displayed. Important: Please change the password in Becker Content Manager as well. (The online shop and Becker Content Manager passwords must be identical). Top of page 
  5. How will my personal details be used? The personal data you provide during your visit on the site may be disclosed to third party companies under the strict guidelines of our Privacy Policy (see footer). Top of page 
  6. The update process for my download aborted. What should I do?

    a.) If the operation aborted before payment, you will have to begin the order process again. Your products will still be in the cart.

    b.) If the operation aborted during the download and did not resume automatically (restart of Becker Content Manager required), products already purchased can be downloaded again under "My data – Order details".

  1. Where can I find the operating instructions for my Becker MAP PILOT?

    The Becker MAP PILOT receives regular software updates to ensure that you always have the latest version and to guarantee optimum functionality. As the manual is regularly updated, we do not provide a printed manual. You can find the current operation guide here

    Should you require a printed version of the manual, please request a copy from your Mercedes Benz dealer.

  3. Where can I buy or upgrade a Becker MAP PILOT? The Becker MAP PILOT is a navigation system developed and designed for Mercedes Benz.

  4. In which vehicle types is the Becker MAP PILOT available? The Becker MAP PILOT is currently available as an equipment version for SLK, C-Class and GLK vehicles for model May 2013. For further information, please contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer. Top of page 
  5. I have software or hardware problems with my navigation device. How should I proceed? For advice on all navigation system hardware, contact the Mecedes-Benz Hotline or the dealer where you bought your car. Top of page 
  6. My Navigation System does not always display what I know is the shortest/fastest route? Everybody knows short-cuts in his or her own region, which he/she can use to avoid traffic jams or unfavourable red lights. The Becker MAP PILOT calculates routes using detailed information from a map database and considers various factors such as distance, average speed, road conditions, turning restrictions, etc. Personal preferences can be considered on the Becker MAP PILOT via settings on route options. For example, this includes motorways, toll roads, tunnels or ferries. As a result, certain roads or areas can be avoided. Of course, the current state of the map data can also influence the calculated routes. Consequently, it makes sense always to have the latest map data installed on the Becker MAP PILOT. Top of page 
  7. The navigation software/map/other content has been deleted or become corrupted from my navigation device/software. How can I restore it?

    If you have a backup, you can use Becker Content Manager to recover your device. If not, we suggest you to contact our Service.

    Have the serial number of the Becker MAP PILOT on hand if possible. You can find the serial number of the back of the device under the bar code.

  8. How can I ensure that there is enough free space on my device/SD card for the extra content? The Becker Content Manager will warn you if there is not enough free space to download the product. This is because the space is on the device is specifically allocated to individual files. If requested to free up more space, you should use the Transfer feature do this until you are able to install the required file. Top of page 
  9. Why aren’t all TMC messages read out? To avoid driver distraction as much as possible, only TMC messages that are relevant for your current route within a 50 km radius are read out. Top of page 
  10. What changes do I need to make to the TMC settings in border areas? Your Becker MAP PILOT searches for the nearest TMC station automatically. In border areas, you may therefore not receive the TMC messages for the country that you are currently in. In this case, you must select the TMC station manually.
    Note that manual settings remain intact. When you leave the transmission area of the sender, you may no longer receive TMC messages.
